I'm a nerd

You're probably wondering about this picture. WELL, let me tell you. I didn't get called to work today, so I went to IKEA. As I was waiting in the checkout, I noticed that the customer in the line ahead of me had her sweatshirt tied around her waist in a very interesting fashion. Her particular 'fashion' being to tie the very bulky sweater (yes, much more bulky and 'woolly' than the one in the photo) around her ribcage right below her chest.....yes yes.....VERY high ABOVE her waist. And although it looked quite uncomfortable, she appeared to not even notice it was there. It was all quite interesting actually. She was laughing and chatting with people, completely aloof of the sweater that was tackling her lower ribcage.

But here's where the story gets even more interesting. I just HAD to come home and re-enact the moment and post it on my blog. Who then, is the bigger nerd? It's a toughie.....

  2. first off, i love the type-o in ashley comment: "ass are you" HA
secondly, i'm am shocked that you've never seen the sweater worn fashionably like that before. It is so very common here in saskatchewan. Actually, if you don't wear your sweater like that you are in the minority. the trick is, as i have discovered, that in order to obtain the perfect level of comfort between the rib cage and the waste, you must apply pressure to the knotted sleeves closer to the right side of the rib cage. It allows for maximum movement and a pleasant ability to breathe in more air.
i hope this helps you in acheiving your nerdyness quota for the week.

  4. maybe the ladies sleeves were not long enough to go around her waist, and hence could only wrap it around her ribs.

AND i love that in commenting on ashley's typo, amanda made 2: "ashely comment," and "waste" (waist). hah.
