Today went really well......much better than I really could've planned myself.....guess that's why God's in control and not me. The world would probably go straight down hill if I controlled it all (that's for sure!)
Anyhow, the day started well with a bath and a few episodes of 'Arrested Development' (a must-see....very funny). A serious good start to anyone's day.....well, maybe not anyone.
Once God had me by himself again though, I saw his provision in a very practical, real way. I dropped off some cards with a manager at a print shop in Langley. I'm hoping to print off 120 cards with my Uganda pictures on the front and sell them at a fundraiser I'm having next friday. I'd told the manager about what I was doing and how all of the fundraising was going back to those in Uganda. I had intended on inviting the manager to the event because he is from Uganda, but settled on just telling him about why I was printing the cards off. Anyhow, I went in today to pick the cards up.....the guy did an awesome job and he was going to 'score' the cards to make them easier to fold, but he came back after about two minutes and slid the cards across the table to me and said, 'This is my contribution.' I thought that he was just saying that because he'd already given me a wicked deal on them.....so I had my debit card all ready to pay, but he wasn't going to the register. Then he said again, 'This is my contribution.' And I realized that he was going to give me the cards for free. Well, after a couple heartfelt 'thank you's' and some tears welling up in my eyes, I walked out of the store and called two friends to tell them of the lovely thing that had just happened. God's providing for me right now and it's pretty darn cool to see! I was amazed by this man's generosity. He basically gave me $100 towards my project by giving me those cards for free......absolutely amazing.....complete God-send.
Anyhow, I went to the church tonight as well to help out with the youth group. I only have 2 girls in my small group, and only 1 of them showed up tonight. So we joined up with another group and went to Save On Foods and bought stuff for ice cream sundaes....and they were delicious. It was relaxed and fun and completely what I (selfishly) needed from the night. Just plain loveliness!
I think that's about it......It's basically 1am right now, and I'm feeling a little hungry....so I'm making kraft dinner (I've loved the stuff since I was a child - just ask my family). A good end to a good day indeed!
