I went to a funeral years ago and wrote down a quote that was written in the 'program' because I think it's just really....beautiful. I've had a lot on my mind lately. I'll let you chew on the quote as you will. Note that I am not 'grieving' in any way. All in all, I've experienced quite a bit of joy and fun (and a lot of blessing) recently......with maybe a few small trials here and there. Most of which, I believe, are there for a purpose. Here's the quote:"Many of our friends in their times of grief speak of God's mysterious ways and I know that there is an element of mystery, but I shrink from the suggestion that our Father has done anything that needs to be explained. What he has done is the best because he has done it, and I pray that as a family, we may not cast about for explanations of the mystery, but exalt in the Holy Spirit and say "I thank thee Father." It suggests a lack of confidence in Him if we find it necessary to try and understand all that he does. Faith never wonders why. Will it bring him greater joy simply to tell Him that we need no explanation because we know Him?" (Quote from Bishop Frank Houghton, China Inland Mission)
What He has done is the best because He has done it.....I like that.....
not gonna lie, since you've posted this I've come back and read it like a billion times (ok...slight exaggeration). thanks, I think i'll print it out and hang it by my bed.
ReplyDeleteps. our landlords got a puppy and it is THE cutest thing ever, I actually melted on our back lawn, right there in front of Raphael (I walked up the stairs and she was hopping across the lawn at me...awwww) Ps I also volunteered myself to baby sit the mutt if they need me to. Her name is tootsie. I'm sure you'll meet her soon enough. Did I say she was cute? I meant it :)
